Does exactly what it says on the (comic book) tin. Loved it.
  • Little Miss Sunshinerating
Very funny, disturbing (the beauty pageant) and completely messed up -- but in a good way.
  • Laputa: Castle in the Skyrating
Story great, characterization a little on the weak side -- though the big robots are cool.
  • Porco Rossorating
    Stylish, funny, exciting.
  • Grave of the Firefliesrating
Very sad, which was a little unexpected since I didn't know much about it before watching it. Can be a little too slow in places though, otherwise it's very good.
  • Nausicaä of the Valley of the Windrating
The story can get a little dense at times what with the various factions, but still really enjoyable, inventive and engaging.
  • X-Men: The Last Standrating
Opportunity, talent, money - all blown. Over 3 films X-Men has hinted of something great that could have been, this last one says "No, sorry - not going to happen". Bah.

Still here...

I haven't left yet, training starts in the New Year now. I've taken advantage of this and been to see The Two Towers this afternoon. Fabulous. I loved it. I can't wait for Return of the King...

The Road Not Taken

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I --
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference

Moveabletype Acronym Plugin

If I had any coding skills at all, I'd write a plugin for Moveabletype which automagically changed my bare acronyms to qualified acronyms.
Eg. I enter CSS and the plugin doodah changes it too:
<acronym title=" Cascading Style Sheets ">CSS</acronym>

I did ask someone to make me one of these, but the unnamed person failed to rise to the challenge. Fame and fortune surely await the creator of such a thing.

Elbow - Independent Woman

I remember hearing this on Mark & Lard's show, it's funny on it's own - but with kittens, well...

Celedaq

It's time to admit that I play Celebdaq. I've made a lot of money off of Liam's little scrap recently, and soon I'll be pouring it all into Elijah Wood. Or maybe Liv Tyler. Mmm, Liv Tyler, mmmmm...

CityBlogs.com

Hey, wouldn't a belfast.cityblogs.com be cool? I'd read it. If anyone's interested in starting such a thing, send me an email.

Wouldn't it be nice if there was an Elmore Leonard, Discussion and Signing on our calendar...

Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
