Does exactly what it says on the (comic book) tin. Loved it.
  • Little Miss Sunshinerating
Very funny, disturbing (the beauty pageant) and completely messed up -- but in a good way.
  • Laputa: Castle in the Skyrating
Story great, characterization a little on the weak side -- though the big robots are cool.
  • Porco Rossorating
    Stylish, funny, exciting.
  • Grave of the Firefliesrating
Very sad, which was a little unexpected since I didn't know much about it before watching it. Can be a little too slow in places though, otherwise it's very good.
  • Nausicaä of the Valley of the Windrating
The story can get a little dense at times what with the various factions, but still really enjoyable, inventive and engaging.
  • X-Men: The Last Standrating
Opportunity, talent, money - all blown. Over 3 films X-Men has hinted of something great that could have been, this last one says "No, sorry - not going to happen". Bah.

City of Belfast on GeoURL

Did the clocks just go forward? Ah, yes they did. Does this mean it's summer time?

Anyway, there is now a listing for Belfast on GeoURL. Hurrah!

Ford GT40 & Peugeot Haggar (or Hoggar)

In my opinion, the most beautiful car ever - the Ford GT40, in it’s most recent incarnation; and something to get me about the dunes of Portstewart - a twin engined, 360bhp, diesel bundle of design loveliness - the Peugeot Haggar (or Hoggar as it seems to be called now)…

From here, I can see for miles...

I can see my house from here.

Most of the satellite pics of home are grey, or gray with textures (Clouds - it rains a lot here you see) or yellow from fields of wheat etc. Which reminds me of a story - when we (the merry band of would-be geologists at Queens) were doing satellite mapping - involving peering through stereoscopic lenses at high resolution photos (of Iraq as it happens) - our lecturer told us of a batch of images taken of Ireland for commercial use in the US. Pretty pictures of mother Ireland. Anyway, the whole batch was rejected. Why? Not green enough. Not a complaint that could be levelled at the above Landsat-7 image...

For those who don't live on the east coast, you can see your house from here.
