Hoot Like A Gibbon

Five comic strips by me — most likely they will make no sense to you unless you know Merc even then they still might not. It was Idoru what pointed out the 4 panels should be 3 thing. cf. swing | babe ruth | …and this one

The soundtrack to this post has been:
Faith No More > From Out Of Nowhere
Pink Floyd > One Of These Days (off Meddle)
Daft Punk > Robot Rock
Van Halen > Why Can’t This Be Love
Blondie > Heart Of Glass
Tiësto > Adagio For Strings

(It started off about something altogether different, which is something I do a lot now, write about something and then decide it’s just not worth the bother. I’ll leave the ranting to these left in the asylum.)

I am so chuffed with the strippery, that I won’t even comment on the music. (Which, aside from Daft Punk, is probably all good. In a certain mood, I could even let you away with that.)

You, sir, are a star.

I think you may have missed Van Halen in that list, if you’re only exception is Daft Punk.

Does exactly what it says on the (comic book) tin. Loved it.
  • Little Miss Sunshinerating
Very funny, disturbing (the beauty pageant) and completely messed up -- but in a good way.
  • Laputa: Castle in the Skyrating
Story great, characterization a little on the weak side -- though the big robots are cool.
  • Porco Rossorating
    Stylish, funny, exciting.
  • Grave of the Firefliesrating
Very sad, which was a little unexpected since I didn't know much about it before watching it. Can be a little too slow in places though, otherwise it's very good.
  • Nausicaä of the Valley of the Windrating
The story can get a little dense at times what with the various factions, but still really enjoyable, inventive and engaging.
  • X-Men: The Last Standrating
Opportunity, talent, money - all blown. Over 3 films X-Men has hinted of something great that could have been, this last one says "No, sorry - not going to happen". Bah.
